Can't Miss Happy Hours Throughout Portland

SHARE:
As much as we enjoy bringing many of Portland’s best restaurants right to you, there’s no getting around the fact that we love getting out and visiting some of the unique establishments around town for a Happy Hour beverage, or two! Fortunately for us, there is no shortage of noteworthy and must-visit locales throughout the Rose City, many featuring hometown beers and spirits. Here are some of our favorites…
Century Bar

Century Bar (Buckman)

Incredibly unique - how many spots can boast stadium seating?! - Century Bar is a fan-fave amongst the Spork Bytes team for its innovative take on the traditional sports bar and the fact that we’re practically neighbors. Complementing the tiered indoor seating and massive screens are an airy outdoor patio and rooftop deck that offers picturesque views of downtown Portland. The daily Happy Hour menu ties it all together and makes Century one of our go-to spots for big games and good times.

Aalto Lounge

Featuring a spirit-forward cocktail list that emphasizes the classics, Aalto offers a $3 happy hour menu for visitors to enjoy throughout the mid-century/modern lounge or outside on the open-air patio. Buckets of beer and featured red or white wine also don the menu that was listed 13th on Eater Portland's“16 Happy Hours Portland Can’t Live Without.” Stick around to hear live DJs each night at 8 p.m.

Reverend's BBQ Meat Platter

Reverend's BBQ (Sellwood)

Helping to get you through the Monday grind is Reverend’s BBQ with their all-day happy hour and the impossible-to-resist “Sammich N' Sesh” - choice of Sandwich (Reverend Burger, Fried Chicken Sandwich, or Tempeh Sandwich) and a Pint of Session Lager. You may recognize Reverend’s from our post about the Best BBQ in Portland, or maybe you’ve experienced their delicious St. Louis-style BBQ first-hand. Either way, with a happy hour menu every day of the week that boasts mouthwatering food and drinks, Reverend’s is the place to be.

Jake's Famous Crawfish & Jake's Grill (Downtown)

Two Old School Portland establishments, Jake’s Famous Crawfish and Jake’s Grill are well known throughout the area for their solid happy hour menus and traditional venues. Established in the late 1800s, Jake’s Crawfish offers some of the best seafood in the nation to go right alongside its expansive happy hour menu. With a more classic and traditional atmosphere, Jake’s Grill also serves high-quality seafood and meats to complement its daily happy hour menu.

While they both offer their own unique experience, both Jake’s locations remain true to the Portland community by featuring drink menus that are highlighted by many local distilleries and breweries, including Barrel Hitch Whiskey, Aria Gin and Ecliptic Brewing, to name just a few.

Rontoms Patio

Rontoms (East Portland)

With its huge outdoor patio and daily happy hour, it’s easy to see how Rontoms has become one of the must-visit spots for a tasty cocktail and relaxed vibe. The spacious back patio has mass appeal offering everything from a cozy spot next to the outdoor fireplace to a competitive game of ping pong. A Rontoms staple - Sunday Sessions - brings the patio to life with free LIVE music every Sunday.

Swine Moonshine & Whiskey Bar (Downtown)

Part of the restaurant and bar duo known as Swank & Swine, the latter emphasizes handmade cocktails and an expansive whiskey collection, while the former presents a farm-to-table menu that is as beautiful as it is flavorful. Even though it may stray slightly from the traditional low price focus found on many happy hour menus, Swank Bar more than makes up for it with a daily happy hour that is sure to please the most discerning of palates.

And for those whiskey lovers amongst us, Swank offers its “Whole Hog Whiskey Club” providing exclusive first access to all whiskey dinners, tastings, education classes and drinking events happenings at Swank and Swine and at Urban Restaurant Group.
