Asian
KaTi Portland
Their flavor-packed dishes make Thai food taste new and exciting, which is quite an accomplishment in a city that loves its Thai food. The curry is creamy and zesty. The noodles are soft and succulent. The tempeh is bursting with savory umami goodness. Be cautious my mild palate pals, ‘cus here spicy means spicy.

Mitate
This is not a drill. There is vegan and gluten free sushi at the CORE food cart pods on 82nd! I repeat, they are serving nom-worthy sushi on 82nd Avenue. And while you are there, be sure to try my favorite, the avocado nigiri topped black truffle salt, whiskey barrel-aged black pepper, lemon zest, & arbequina olive oil.
Jade Rabbit
Obon Shokudo
Specializing in Japanese comfort food, here you can find inventive onigiri combinations like persimmon with a barley-hazelnut miso or ginger pistachio miso, along with fresh salads, warming soups, and the best cozy katsu curry!
Indian
The Sudra
With four locations scattered across town, this crave-worthy eatery takes an innovative spin on Indian staples. My favorite is the Poori Plate where savory poori, black eyed pea korma, potato masala and collards combine with briney pickled Anaheim chiles, sweet creamy coconut yogurt, and vibrant tomato chutney to create a symphonic mouth experience. Did I mention they have an exciting cocktail list too?
Maruti Indian Restaurant

Pro tip - add avocado.
Hungry Tiger
The walls are covered with tiger decor and the food is piping hot at this laidback bar. All typical bar finds like wings, tots, mac and burgers are on the menu including their famous vegan corn dogs, which come house battered and fried golden. Play a game of pool or pinball while you indulge.
